Chef Matteo Milandri of Casa Artusi, with the most experienced “Marietta” (volunteer cooking teacher) at the foundation.
Thanks to our partners in Italy and St. Paul, Twin Citians will soon have a rare opportunity to dive into the heart of true Italian cuisine — not just to taste it, but to learn it from the masters themselves.
This March, Cooks of Crocus Hill welcomes Casa Artusi to its cooking school to share the culture, techniques and recipes behind Italy’s beloved home-cooked dishes. This isn’t just cooking—it’s a cultural journey into the soul of the only national cuisine recognized by UNESCO for its contributions to the world.
Susy, Patrito, founding Director of Casa Artusi and beloved host of Esperienza’s “Food, Wine & Friends” tour.
Joining us from Forlimpopoli, Italy will be Casa Artusi chef Matteo Milandri and Susy Patrito, host of Esperienza's culinary tours and founding director of Casa Artusi, a cooking school and cultural center dedicated to Italian home cooking. Together, they’ll lead a series of experiences, from hands-on cooking classes to demonstration dinners, March 26–29, 2026. Click here for schedules and details.
The opportunity also offers a small flavor of the kinds of deeper culinary tours we offer travelers in Italy, including a new cooking-centered culinary trip in fall 2026.
Casa Artusi is the first and only center of gastronomic culture dedicated to Italian home cooking. Located in the hometown of Pellegrino Artusi--author of the timeless cookbook "Science in the Kitchen and the Art of Eating Well"-- Casa Artusi celebrates the dishes and traditions that define Italian cuisine. It played a key role in Italy’s 2025 UNESCO recognition of its national cuisine as an Intangible Cultural Heritage.
