Join Our Online “book club” - Leggiamo Insieme!
To maintain, and perhaps improve on the Italian language skills you’ve acquired, it can be helpful to experience the language in a variety of ways. And there’s no better way to increase your confidence and comprehension with the Italian language than to take the opportunity to practice, practice, practice. To that end, Esperienza offers way to stay involved, keep moving forward, and to have a little fun in the process!
Our book club also allows you to connect with local teachers from the rural villages in Emilia-Romagna where our in-person Language Immersion programs take place.
Ongoing year-round sessions
We are continuing to offer our popular Esperienza Virtuale “Book Club.” We’ll read a book together (in Italian) and meet online for weekly discussion, to allow you to reinforce your early skills or grow in fluency.
Offered year-round at three proficiency levels, the groups will meet via Zoom for 8 weeks and are great as a stand-alone program for experienced learners, or as an addition to our regular classes for beginning and intermediate students.

Fall Session: Starts the week of September 23
Holiday Session: Starts the week of December 2 (break during the week of December 22)
Winter Session: Starts the week of February 17
Spring Session: Starts the week of April 28
Summer Session: Starts the week of July 7

Changes to Our Online Italian Language Learning Programs
Eight years ago, Esperienza was founded with the mission of helping to revitalize local villages in rural Italy. Our initial programs, focusing on Italian language learning and Italian cuisine, all took place in Pennabilli, the village which first sparked the idea. During the pandemic, we added online Italian classes, and since then we have experimented with other travel programs, including Art & Culture trips and began offering Pilgrimage Hiking trips in 2024.
As we continue to refine our mission, we have made the decision to strengthen our commitment to our in-person travel programs. To that end, Esperienza is making a few changes:
With the fall 2025 semester, Esperienza will not be offering our usual online Italian language classes. Emanuela Corbetta, our former director, will be offering classes for those who'd like to continue with her.
The 2-week language immersion program in Italy and the online Italian book club will still be part of Esperienza’s programs, led by locals in Italy.
