Activity Levels and Special Dietary Guidelines
Please review the guidelines below about the activity levels of our trips and guidelines regarding special dietary needs.
Activity Levels
For maximum enjoyment of our programs, please ensure your mobility fits the level of the trip you’re considering:
Level 1 Accessible to those with limited mobility.
Level 2 Accessible to those with moderate mobility. These trips are designed for those who are comfortable navigating some rough and uneven terrain, such as cobblestone streets, staircases without railings, and some hills. These trips involve walking up to two and a half miles at a time and standing for at least an hour and a half. Not accessible to those with mobility restrictions, such as wheelchair users, or those who use a walker.
Level 3 Accessible to those with good mobility. These trips are designed for those with the ability to hike 8-10 miles per day, or 4-6 hours of walking at a time.
Level 4 Accessible to those with excellent mobility. These trips are designed for those with the ability to hike 10-15 miles per day, or 6-8 hours of walking at a time.
guidelines for Special Dietary Needs
All our tours, and especially our Culinary trips, include common foods linked to intolerances and allergies such as gluten, dairy, eggs, seafood, fish, etc. We do our best to accommodate these special dietary restrictions when possible, but in some cases, it may be necessary to skip courses entirely.
If you have life-threatening food allergies to seafood or fish, our culinary trips are not recommended. In several of the coastal towns we visit, seafood and fish are a primary food source, and we cannot guarantee our ability to accommodate severe allergies to fish and shellfish.
