Esperienza Virtuale - Italian Immersion Program
Italian Book Club & Conversation Club
The fun way to Learn and connect!
If you want to maintain, and perhaps improve on the language skills you’ve acquired, it can be helpful to experience the language in a variety of ways. To that end, Esperienza offers a great way to stay involved, keep moving forward, and to have a little fun in the process!
In fact, there’s no better way to increase your confidence and comprehension than to take the opportunity to practice, practice, practice. In that spirit, we are now offering two online programs to support your learning journey and connect you with locals from Romagna:
Our popular Esperienza online Book Club continues! Each session, we read a book together (in Italian) and meet online for weekly discussion, to allow you to reinforce your early skills or grow in fluency.
In addition, our new Esperienza online Conversation Club offers a fun opportunity for more proficient learners to learn about culture and what's happening in Romagna while improving their skills. Each week will focus on a different subject, ranging from art, cinema, gastronomy, artificial intelligence, to leisure and hobbies, based on advance reading (or listening/watching) assigned by the teacher.
2026 Schedule:

Offered year-round, the groups will meet via Zoom for 8 weeks and are great as a stand-alone program for experienced learners, or as an addition to regular classes for upper beginning and intermediate students. Please refer to this chart for details about the levels referenced below* and if you’re unsure which level is right for you, please contact us.
Early Intermediate: For students at the A2/B1 level, more time will be devoted to discussion of the book and to specific, more challenging passages. There may be some reading assigned between sessions.
Upper Intermediate: For students at the B2/C1 level, more time will be devoted to discussion of the book and to specific, more challenging passages. There may be some reading assigned between sessions.
Advanced: For students in the C1/C2 level, most of our time will be devoted to discussion. Some reading will be assigned before each group meeting.
* The levels offered are based upon the level of our current participants. If no group is currently offered at your level and you’re interested in joining the book club, please contact us. If enough requests are received, we will form additional level groups.
““Chi non legge, a 70 anni avrà vissuto una sola vita: la propria. Chi legge avrà vissuto 5000 anni: c’era quando Caino uccise Abele, quando Renzo sposò Lucia, quando Leopardi ammirava l’infinito… perché la lettura è un’immortalità all’indietro.“”
Translation: "By the age of 70, he who doesn’t read will have lived only one life. He who reads will have lived 5000 years. Reading is immortality working backwards." - Umberto Eco
